Together for Rhotia

- Karibu-
Hello and a very warm welcome! We’re pleased to see you here.

Maisha Tanzania Association briefly explained

The "Maisha Tanzania" Association aims to support and promote the Rhotia Health Centre in Tanzania, which is primarily concerned with preventative healthcare and healthcare provision in the Tanzanian region of Rhotia. Further possibilities are the promotion and support of projects in the social and educational sector.

About us

Who are we?

Corina Cabalzar
I live in the beautiful city of Chur in Switzerland. As a vocational teacher in the healthcare sector, I am committed to the optimal training of future nursing professionals. In my spare time I am involved in politics and in campaigning for women's rights and a diverse culture. My hobbies include reading, yoga, cross-country skiing, biking and attending cultural events. I like spending time with my family, especially with my two godchildren and, of course, in Rhotia, Tanzania.

Thomas Hensel
Thanks to the Chur’s Friends of Nature I was able to travel to Senegal and learn about projects in sustainable tourism. Thanks to "Maisha Tanzania" I am now getting to know a new country and about the work of a health project that has existed for generations. You never stop learning – including about where and how donations are used wisely.

Lorena Oswald
I am a qualified nursing specialist in Chur. In summer 2021 I was very lucky to travel to Africa. My stay in Tanzania and the work at the Rhotia Health Center had a huge impact on me. I would like to help give the people working there the full recognition that they so richly deserve. I learned a lot about charity, openness, understanding, helpfulness and honesty in Rhotia.

Ruth Niederreiter
Carry an attitude of gratitude and helpfulness into the world... As a long-time nurse, midwife and sexual health educator, it is very important to me that Rhotia in Tanzania can offer comprehensive health care for mothers, fathers and children. Thanks to medically assisted births, the risk of women and their newborns dying during birth can be reduced. Offering advice on breastfeeding and lactation is also of central importance in order to promote breastfeeding in a practical way and to solve breastfeeding problems. In terms of prevention, it is important to me that trained health advisors provide adults and young people with information about family planning, contraception and protection against malaria, tuberculosis and venereal diseases. So we focus on the solution and not the problem, and we support the Rhotia Health Center with ideas and donations.
